Natrelle® Implants Warranty Guide
Saline Breast Implants
Saline implants are filled with sterile saltwater and pose no risk of silicone leakage, as the body can safely absorb the saline if the implant ruptures. They are often a more cost-effective option for Fort Worth patients, though in thinner individuals, rippling along the implant edges may be more noticeable compared to silicone. Patients must be at least 18 years old.
Silicone Breast Implants
Silicone implants are made with a cohesive gel that closely mimics the look and feel of breast tissue, making them a popular choice for patients seeking a softer, more natural result. They’re designed to maintain their shape even if the outer shell is compromised, with any changes typically detectable only through imaging such as MRI. Patients must be at least 22 years of age.
Breast Implant Profile, Shape, Texture, and Size
Implant selection is more detailed than simply choosing a cup size and material. A natural-looking breast augmentation result depends on selecting an implant that fits your frame and works with your existing breast tissue.
Profile
The implant profile refers to how far the breast projects outward from the chest. Lower profiles create a more subtle slope, while higher profiles offer greater projection with a narrower base. Your surgeon will recommend a profile based on your chest width and desired look.
Shape
Round implants provide more fullness in the upper breast. Teardrop implants are designed to mimic a natural slope.
Texture
Implants may have a smooth or textured surface. Smooth implants are most commonly used and allow for more natural movement within the breast pocket.
Size
Size is selected based on your body proportions, not just cup size goals. During your consultation, you will review options to find a size that complements your frame and lifestyle.
Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation can be appropriate for women who want to increase breast volume, restore fullness, improve symmetry, and/or enhance overall body proportions. It is commonly chosen by patients experiencing changes due to pregnancy, weight loss, aging, or natural development.
The Procedure
Breast augmentation surgery is performed under general anesthesia in an accredited surgical facility in Fort Worth and typically takes about one hour. It is an outpatient procedure, meaning you’ll return home the same day.
Dr. Anderson, Dr. Daniels, Dr. Derrick, or Dr. Joseph will begin by making one of the following carefully planned incisions to access the underlying breast tissue:
- Inframammary: In the breast crease
- Periareolar: Around the areola
- Transaxillary: In the armpit
- Transumbilical: Through the belly button
Once the incision is made, the implant is placed in a position that best supports your chosen outcome:
- Submammary (Subglandular): Under the mammary gland, over the muscle
- Subfascial: Under the fascia of the muscle
- Dual Plane: Along two planes/layers
- Submuscular (Retromuscular): Mostly under the muscle
- Complete Submuscular (Full retromuscular): Completely under the muscle
After placement, the incisions are carefully closed, and you are monitored before being discharged home.
Breast Augmentation Recovery
After surgery, breast augmentation patients need to rest for a few days, but will be encouraged to move around to promote circulation. As the skin adjusts to the new breast size, it’s normal to feel tightness in the chest area. You’ll be scheduled for a post-op follow-up appointment a week after surgery.
Patients may resume their normal exercise routines within 4-6 weeks. It typically takes around six months for the breasts to settle into their final position. The result for our Fort Worth patients is a softer, natural-looking breast appearance.

How Much Does Breast Augmentation Cost?
The cost varies based on implant type, anesthesia, facility fees, surgeon expertise, implant placement, and whether a breast lift or other procedures are added to your treatment plan. A personalized consultation and price estimate are the best ways to understand the expected cost for your procedure. To help patients manage the cost of care, we are proud to offer financing.
Shape
Breast implants come in two shapes. Round implants tend to offer more fullness on the top of the breast, while teardrop implants are known to mimic the shape and look of natural breasts.
Texture
Breast implants are made with a smooth or textured surface. Round implants can be chosen with either surface, while teardrop implants are made with a textured surface only.
Our Fort Worth surgeons generally recommend smooth, round implants in a variety of sizes and profiles to fit each patient’s body type.

Breast Augmentation FAQs
Can breast augmentation be combined with a breast lift?
Yes. If sagging is present, implants alone may not create the ideal breast position. A breast lift with implants may be recommended when a patient wants both increased volume and improved shape or nipple position.
How long do breast implants typically last?
Breast implants are not considered lifetime devices, but many can last 10–20 years or longer without issues. Regular monitoring and follow-up with your surgeon help determine if and when replacement may be needed.
Can breast implants shift or move over time?
Implants can shift slightly due to natural changes in the body, gravity, or tissue characteristics. Proper surgical technique and following post-operative guidelines help minimize this risk.
How does weight fluctuation affect breast implants?
Weight gain or loss can impact the appearance of your breasts by changing the surrounding tissue. While the implant itself does not change, overall breast shape and fullness may be affected.
Is it possible to remove breast implants later on?
Yes, breast implants can be removed or replaced in the future if your preferences or needs change. Some patients choose removal due to lifestyle changes, aging, or personal preference.
